Privacy policy
What WristPad does
WristPad is a Wear OS app that lets you control a computer you choose over Bluetooth. It sends mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, drag actions and supported presentation key commands to that computer. These input commands leave your watch and are processed by the selected computer.
Information kept on your watch
WristPad reads paired Bluetooth device names and addresses to show available computers and establish connections. It stores saved computer names and Bluetooth addresses, the last selected computer, control and appearance preferences, tutorial progress and pairing/setup-recognition information in local app storage.
This information is used to remember your choices and manage connections. Computer entries and preferences remain until you remove or reset them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Temporary pairing-recognition information has a limited validity period; expired records may remain locally until replaced or cleared.
Permissions and Bluetooth input
Nearby devices and Bluetooth permissions allow WristPad to discover paired devices, advertise its input-device capability, pair and connect. WristPad uses a foreground service and a session notification to support Bluetooth operation. It also uses vibration for feedback. Pair only with computers you trust and disconnect when you finish.
No app accounts, ads or analytics
WristPad does not require a WristPad account and does not include advertising or analytics integrations. The current app does not request Internet permission and does not automatically upload saved computer information or input activity to the developer. Bluetooth input transmission to your chosen computer is separate from Internet communication.
Diagnostics
Development and debug builds can write connection events, computer names, input timing and presentation key codes to Android’s local system logs. WristPad’s own diagnostic logging is disabled in release builds. Android and other platform components may produce their own logs and control their retention and access. WristPad does not automatically send these logs to the developer.
When you contact support
If you email support, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you send, and uses them to respond and investigate your issue. Email is handled through Proton Mail and your own email provider. Please remove unrelated personal information from screenshots or diagnostic files before sharing them.
Support messages and attachments are deleted within 90 days after the request is resolved, unless needed for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation. You can request deletion at WristPad@proton.me.
This website and other services
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Visiting it involves Cloudflare processing connection information, such as your IP address and browser/request details, to deliver and protect the website. We have not added analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels or forms to this site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its practices.
Google Play processes purchases and distribution under its own policies. Wear OS, Android and your computer also handle information under their respective policies. This policy does not replace those providers’ policies.
Your choices and security
You can disconnect from a computer and remove its saved entry in WristPad. Removing an app entry does not remove the system Bluetooth pairing; manage that separately in Bluetooth settings. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the app’s local preferences. App backup is disabled. System logs and Bluetooth bonds are managed separately by the operating system.
WristPad relies on Android’s app storage protections and the Bluetooth pairing and connection mechanisms supplied by the operating system. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary for a support request.
